"The interpreter scene prior to 1964 was so vastly different from that which exists today that it is a strain on the imagination to contemplate it ... We did not work as interpreters, but rather volunteered our services as our schedules permitted. If we received any compensation it was freely given and happily accepted, but not expected." - Lou Fant, RID biographer

Review Question 14. Answers: A 2) & 3)
18. Q. Can I register for a workshop and then a few of us can all watch the workshop and get CEUs?
A. Ethical Decision Making:
Professional Interpreters, associate members, interns and students are required to live by a code, the “Code of Professional Conduct.” Integrity, good character and reputation is everything in this profession.
It is unethical to share workshops with unregistered Sign Language students, interns, pre-certified and certified interpreters.
In order for us to keep bringing you affordable “Live-Online" Broadcast Workshops, sharing workshops with anyone who has not registered for the Workshop through PayPal is unethical and strictly forbidden without the written and notorized permission of the owners of Love2ASL.
ADDITIONAL IMPORTANT INFORMATION
System Glitches are out of our control:
As you know we have no control over the atmosphere and sometimes for a couple of seconds a sun flare or some “atmospheric phenomenon” will cause a connection glitch causing our screen to freeze or skip for about 3 seconds. If the screen freezes longer and more frequently check with other participants in the Chat and see if they are experiencing the same problem, that way you can determine if it’s a problem with your internet connection or if we are having an atmospheric glitch. You can also try logging out and back in for a better connection.
Sometimes, as technology is what it is, will have a momentary disconnect and reconnect, this happens in mere seconds and cannot be controlled by us, it’s a technical glitch with the live streaming server. Thank you for your patience in this cutting edge technology bringing workshops to your door.
If for some reason you are having difficulty accessing the "Live-Online" broadcast, we will do everything we can to provide you with access to the archived video workshop you registered for, without additional archived cost.
Internet Strength:
Love2ASL is broadcasting at 25 frames per second (fps), for a point of comparison, an example is, movies are running at 30 frames per second, the quality of 25 fps is superior to almost any other live broadcast streaming. If the view is not clear, check with your internet service provider and possibly upgrade your “downloading” speed to at least 700 mb.
Another frequent concern is, do I need high speed uploading? No your uploading speed is irrelevant, because you are not broadcasting, you are viewing so it is your “download” speed that must be at lease
700 mb, preferably 1.5 gb.
Many thanks,
Juti
